Mountain, Moorland and Forest Riding Holidays - Accommodation & Restaurants
Throughout your holiday, you will stay at and eat in some of the finest establishments in the area, which have all been selected by Myfanwy for their facilities, candle-lit ambience, fine food, excellent wines and quality of service. Vegetarians and special dietary needs can readily be catered for. Evening meals are inclusive in the holiday price based on £40.00 per person, not including drinks.
We use a range of local accommodation providers, most of whom offer a large choice of breakfasts, including juices, cereals, kedgeree and cooked breakfasts with toast and home-made jams and marmalades. Single rooms are available for a small supplement of £30.00 per person per night.
Below are the main accommodation and restaurant providers we use and which are no more than 10-15 minutes drive from the stables. We do use other accommodations in the area depending on availability.
ACCOMMODATION
The Old Mill, Felinfach
Pam and Haydn Boxhall are your hosts; and the Old Mill has been in Pam's family for generations, her grandfather being the last miller. Evidence of the past use are preserved in the griding stones outside and in photographs and old invoices around the house which is a Wales Tourist Board graded 4 star Farm B&B.
FOOD & DRINK
The Plough & Harrow, Felinfach
Convenient for the Old Mill B&B, this hostelry has a welcoming panelled wood bar and home-cooked food. Look out for the old photograph of a Hunt Meet at the pub in the corridor - closer inspection may reveal someone you recognise!!
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD & DRINK
The Griffin Inn, Llyswen
Situated in the heart of the village of Llyswen, the Griffin Inn is the ideal place to relax after the day's riding with its welcoming bar, cosy atmosphere with wood burning stoves and the option of a separate restaurant. A popular pub near the River Wye, it offers accommodation and excellent food with fish a speciality but the menu has a range of locally sourced dishes. Breakfasts are continental mid-week.
FOOD & DRINK
The Griffin Inn, Felinfach
One of the best restaurants in the area, and frequently the haunt of some of Britain's most notable "foodies", the Griffin Felinfach has a superb menu and exquisite wine list. With the open fire and comfy leather couches in the bar, it is a great place to relax before dinner. However, before you get too carried away, remember we do have a evening dinner budget of £40 to keep to, so if you would like to eat here during your stay, please discuss with us in advance.
