If you are looking for the ultimate exclusive exploratory riding holiday then head for Wales and explore the truly magnificent remote Brecon Beacons National Park and surroundings on horseback with Myfanwy Mitchell.
Come with friends or on your own, and join a small group (minimum 2 riders) travelling at a good pace through stunningly rugged scenery, travelling along different, carefully researched routes each day which provide the best views of the dramatic scenery.
Riding one of Myfanwy's fit, well-schooled, Welsh and Irish cobs and cob crosses, renowned for their natural sense of balance and toughness that is essential for riding over the rough terrain, you ride out for 5-6 hours each day in comfortable saddles, covering up to 20 miles a day along quiet lanes and across open moorland, where the springy turf is excellent for long, fast canters.
The horses cope easily with the terrain, leading you effortlessly up to panoramic high spots, below the soaring red kites and buzzards, and along high ridges, through quiet forests and ancient woods, then down into secluded valleys with slopes covered with bracken and heather.
You pause for a picnic lunch before riding on for a few more hours before returning to your accommodation in the evenings, after seeing that your horse is groomed, fed and happily turned out for the night. Riding all day and staying at comfortable accommodation is wonderfully rewarding and you have the real satisfaction of achievement.
The accommodation and restaurants you visit are all hand-picked by Myfanwy to provide the very best in comfortable characterful settings in which to relax with your riding companions and to reminisce after the day's exertions. The excellent hostelries all offer delicious food, good wine and real ales to be enjoyed at your leisure, and are the perfect conclusion to the day.
By the end of the holiday, not only will you have explored some of Wales' most undiscovered countryside, but our "made for the job" horses will have taught you a thing or two about riding over the Welsh terrain!!!

The holidays are fully inclusive of all riding, accommodation and meals (except evening dinner drinks), guide's services, horses, grazing and backup. Prices are based on shared rooms.
An extra night's accommodation based on dinner, bed and breakfast can be arranged after the short break and weekend/mid-week rides on request.
Single rooms are available for a small additional supplement of £30 per rider per night.
